Avoiding side streets off of Bourbon is insane. Most locals avoid Bourbon Street altogether and somehow manage to have a good time (and not get killed).

Agree with everything except 1 key point.
Stay the hell away from the cops while in the Qtr. They will have Patty wagons backed up to the corner on side streets of Bourbon and will put you in jail for no reason other than it is a scam that makes revenue for the city. It will ruin your trip and cost you about a thousand dollars.

If you need directions....ask anybody but the cops!

please no facts sir! as a matter of fact I will spend most of my time NOT on Bourbon Street.
