No, JJ was taking meaningful snaps since his first day back against Kentucky.

Of course we practiced for JJ, and we did really well in defending him. They didn't get into the endzone, and had help from a pick and OT to get 6 of their three points. If our defense plays like they did last time, we should be fine. It's the offense that needs to improve. I'm sure LSU fans feel the same way about their performance.

Outstanding write up, GFunk. Have you submitted this for publication? It deserves to be read outside of this place, where 14 year old Ritalin junkies don't have the attention span for more than three sentences.

I do think JJ will throw more, deep post/fade routes on 1st and 10. Ware will likely start, but expect Ford and Hilliard to be featured backs for LSU with toss sweep run plays and zone read option.

I haven't yet studied Bama's tendencies on offense, but I would expect Lacy to get more touches than last time (healthy). I don't believe with OC leaving that they'll have a lot of time to put in new schemes, expect a more conservative plan this time and attack with fundamentals.

Forget it, I'm done with you. You admitted you didn't watch LSU much yet you keep insisting LSU didn't give JJ meaningful snaps before Bama, when we really did.

I'll save you some time.

I rewatched the '03 and '09 Saban championship games. QB play was putrid. Saban took the ball out of the QB's hands, and when he did take risks, he got burned. So, in summation, he will go toe to toe. May the best team win.

He took two shots in '03, and one shot in '09. In '03, he tried a WR pass from Oklahoma's 30, just like in November, but not from a direct snap. He later faked a long range FG, and we were pushed out of bounds around the 5 on a 4th and goal from the 35 or so. In '09, I believe he faked the first punt, unsuccessfully.

Mauck had a horrible game. Fumbled snap at goalline, 3 INTs, fell down prior to the marker late in the game with a sure first down run. In '09, I don't remember the stats off hand, but they were less than impressive. And I do recall them taking like 3 sacks in a row on obvious passing downs, just to keep the clock moving, and put the unit with a better chance to score on the field, the defense.

You should probably include that our QB had broken ribs in that game.

You have derailed idiot. Just give up at this point. Saban did prepare. You had a chance to win and eric reid out manned your big strong TE. Next game will be another great one.

Damn!!!!!!

If I didn't know any better, I'd think someone else is posting on your account.

You sure have come a long way from the conversations we had prior to the Bama game in the JJ vs. JL debates.

I take it you've come to your football senses?

McElroy should consider himself lucky with just broken ribs. If he could still throw with them, Saban would have broken his arm.

Really?

Don't make me pull that shite up.

You ranted in a thread you started that went on for tens of pages on JJ being Miles' pet, and completely opposed to him rejoining the team, much less seeing significant playing time.

I'm going do some last minute Christmas shopping, but I'll make a deal with you.

If you want me to find said discussions, I'll find them and post them, if you agree to admit you were wrong.

I'll check on this when I get back.

OP- wonderful analysis.

I believe it comes down to whether LSU can pressure AJ. Because if you can't he will find open receivers given time. And if he's successful throwing it then that will open up the TR or Lacy show. Unless you pull something seriously new out of Les Miles's hat then I don't see LSU being able to move the ball.
