There have been only two BCS National Championship Games that drew fewer than 23 million viewers and both games were epic blowouts that were over by halftime (USC vs. Oklahoma, Miami vs. Nebraska). Even the dreadful LSU vs. Ohio State matchup was able to draw at least 23 million viewers. If the game is close, there will be 24-26 million people watching the game.

If it's a blowout it doesnt really matter. viewership is not about how long they watch the game. People are either going to tune in or not. And Many were very disapointed from the first go around. Just telling you as I have heard it from other, non SEC people

Meh...it is the LAST college football game for a LOOOONNNNGGG time. Most fans will tune in once push comes to shove. I know there is a lot of consternation and jealousy right now. But, 2 good teams playing the last game a college fan gets to see for many months....they'll tune in.
