There have been four BCS national championship games that drew in less than 24 million viewers. All of those games had even less appeal than a LSU/Alabama rematch

Problem is they are tired of the SEC, They have seen this game on Novemeber 5th, and most(outside SEC) were not entertained then as well. I travel quite a bit outside the southeast and that is what pretty much I hear all the time

There have been only two BCS National Championship Games that drew fewer than 23 million viewers and both games were epic blowouts that were over by halftime (USC vs. Oklahoma, Miami vs. Nebraska). Even the dreadful LSU vs. Ohio State matchup was able to draw at least 23 million viewers. If the game is close, there will be 24-26 million people watching the game.
