But that was intentional and shouldn't be defended. Not even by homers.

Thank you for your fact-less opinion, homer.

His intent was to make a play as best he could to make up for being beat. He tried a technique that is legal. He messed up by grabbing jersey. The only thing that hit Dre's head was the ground. If his forearm had hit Dre's helmet, chances are he would have broken a bone in his arm.

Dispute any of this with more than "I've decided TM is a POS, and if you disagree, so are you", because that's all you have said thus far.

STFU douchebag. If you don't want opinions, don't make threads.

Why go high at all? Why not go low? Like a baseball player sliding into home plate. Heels are low, it's clean, heels high and aimed at the knees, that's dirty as frick.

Ok. I don't think he hits him in the head. I think the blow lands near the shoulder just below the facemask. I will say you can't separate the "chest punch" as a legal move and the holding as a mistake. They are all one motion, one move. It was from behind on a sprinting player. It was obviously intentional. I've played enough football to know this was a cheap shot, even if technically legal. Anyone who's played football (and isn't biased for LSU) would have to agree.

I have a hard time believing this is a technique taught. I would like to see another video of Mathieu performing a "chest punch" on a player sprinting to cover a punt. Thanks.

ETA: I have no clue what my fellow Bama fans are saying about him clearly hitting him in the head. But I have no clue what you're saying about that little twitch his right arm does near the sideline. His arm swings a little, but doesn't even go above his waist. How can that possibly mean "chest"?
