Georgia and South Carolina middle of the pack?

Your right. Georgia should be top tier. For all the people that just started watching football the past few years, here is the breakdown.

The Big 6
Alabama
Auburn
LSU
Florida
Georgia
Tennessee

These are the only 6 six that really matter when you talk SEC. Each has had it's amazing runs in the modern era. (LSU 00's, Fla and Tenn 90's, etc.) Each has had its struggles-(Tenn- now, LSU-90's, Bama-early 00's). Even through struggles these 6 have most tradition, best fans, best players and recruit on a different level than that of other schools.

Middle Pack
Arkansas
Ole Miss
South Carolina

These schools can be good enough to win their divisions and have really good seasons, but don't attract enough elite talent to compete with the big 6 year to year. South Carolina and Arkansas are on good runs now, but they still havent won a conference title and probably won't in near future.

Usual bottom feeders
Miss St
Vanderbilt
Kentucky

These schools will have some good years like Miss St last year, but these schools have the smallest fan base and have trouble consistently recruiting.

Is it possible to bypass "middle of the pack" and drop straight from "Big 6" to "bottom feeder"?

As a UT fan, you should be interested in the answer to this question.

One of these is not like the others.

MSU has actually won the western division before, OM has not. So there is no argument that OM is more likely to win the division than MSU, and they have been no better than us. Also their fanbase isn't any larger than ours, they are about the same.

They are far and away from being middle of the pack
