A plus-one just makes so much sense, imo. I realize the concern is that it will lead to further expansion a la ncaa basketball. But serious contractual impediments to further expansion could be put in place.

I don't know what's going to happen. I don't like rematches. They definitely aren't fair when it comes to equality re: distribution of bowl game or theoretical playoff monies, especially with same conference repeat matchups. There is a way to make it more equitable in regard to matchups and distribution of "purses" though, it just may take some time for it to come about.
