I love this thread.
The whole Coke vs. pop realization was really telling.
What will happen when they see some gumbo? Food of the Gods....Do they have that in the North?

I've found a restaurant in Boston that makes it. Not as good as what my relatives make, but it's pretty damn good. So, at least there's hope... Making a roux isn't that difficult, either.
