It was initially a 10-year contract from 1986 through 1995. Sometime during that 10 years, there was apparently an extension (you say 2 years, I thought it was 4, but whatever it was, it was an extension of the original 10-year contract). Apparently, LSU withdrew from the extension, but we did complete the original 10-year contract.

A&M has raised more hell about this than anyone outside of Texas or Louisiana would believe, which is strange because all Joe Dean did was save them from a long series of beatdowns if we had continued playing each other.
