Really? Lots of Steel Plants in Auburn & Tuscaloosa?

Its a State rivalry game...it isn't exclusive to any of those three locations.

It was named after the Steel Capital of the South, Birmingham

Alabama is not know as the "Steel State"

The name "Iron Bowl" referred 100% to the fact the game was played in Birmingham every year and nothing more. That name has nothing to do with Alabama or Auburn or the State of Alabama or city of Tuscaloosa or Auburn. You can try to pretend like that isn't the case, but you would be completely wrong

not really sure why an LSU fan is trying to argue this anyway?
