"The eyes of Texas are upon you,"
that is the song they sing so well (sounds like hell).

Is in reference to Texas' Alma Matter

"The Eyes of Texas"
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
all the live-long day.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
you cannot get away.
Do not think you can escape them,
at night or early in the morn'.
The Eye of Texas are upon you,
'til Garbriel blows his horn.

we didn't want to have to care about yours either, but I guess now we kind of are forced to. all because one night Mike Slive decided to get really really drunk

did your 12 university presidents that voted unaminimously for us to join also get drunk

In the early 1920's when the Aggie War Hymn was written the only game that really mattered at that time was the annual Thanksgiving showdown with the sips. Most Aggies don't see the Aggie War Hymn the way outsiders do though, there's a lot of pride in that song and sawing Varsity's horns off is one of my favorite parts of Gameday. Does it mean we want to beat other teams any less? Of course not. But Aggies honor our roots and our tradition, so the Fight song never changed (even when there were efforts to include more "non t-sips centric" lyrics.)

come on give us a break we dont know what to believe anymore, we are still trying to get used to the GI Joes & Male Cheerleaders and yell practice

after learning about all that, i now fully believe ANYTHING is possible concerning A&M. Everything I thought knew about college football fans has been thrown out the window

This doesn't change the fact your entire hymn is based on Texas, that is is still used today, or that you do suffer from a little brother complex that dwarfs Ms. State and Auburn if it was possible to combine these two's complexes.

Just because you are mentioned in one line of Texas' fight song, it isn't justified.

dale's just mad because in the 100+ years of arky football they never had anyone that really thought they were a rival. they tried to pick one with texas, but couldn't get past OU and A&M. also tried with LSU, but LSU laughed at them.

I'm sure MSU when they wrote their song really only cared about besting Ole Miss, but they still didn't include and tried to make it a bit more classy and not obsessive where it could be effectively used in any game and not just the Egg Bowl.

I suppose if that's your opinion, that's fine. You're not the only one to have it. The sips are our biggest rival hands down, and that will never change, and the song is partly influenced based on the dynamics of the two Universities in the state throughout their respective history. Like I said, to an Aggie tradition is tradition, and it also carries certain respect based on where it was written.

Yes. We've been singing this song for nearly 100 years, it's not changing now.

The Thanksgiving game is still not out of the question, and the other sports are already working out their schedules so they can play each other from here on out. This year is not the last year the Aggies and sips will play each other.
