UF and UGA are clearly the 2 most difficult public SEC schools to get into.

UGA is a different case though, because they show a very strong preference for in state students. Texas is the same way. So while they may be hard to get into for a lot of people, for others it's quite easy to get into those schools.

AU is much tougher to get into than UA. AU has a higher acceptance rate but that is driven by the fact that we have a smaller # of folks applying than Alabama, and there are a lot of folks with low scores trying to get into UA, who don't even apply to AU.

Think about this: AU has a higher incoming freshman class GPA/ACT than UA, AND has a much higher acceptance rate. Assuming that UA is accepting the top x% of their class and AU is doing the same, this tells us that the average applicant to AU is simply smarter than the average applicant to UA. But tell us something we didn't know.

It's a lot easier to get into Uga If you live in Monroe county than it is if you live in Fulton county.
