Question about Saban's comments about start of practice

Forgive me if this is germans. I dont come to this board often or read about other teams comments, but is it true that Saban said this was the best he has ever seen a team respond to an opening practice out of all the teams he's ever coached. I know Saban isnt one to ever say anything positive to the media about his teams, or ranking, or anything of that matter. If its true, not gonna lie, thats pretty damn intimidating to hear....especially coming from Saban

For saban to say something like that, its VERY surprising. I'm not sure why its such a "funny" comment

I thought he poormouthed a good bit?

Saban saying that isnt funny, anyone being intimidated by it is funny.

It's just second hand that I heard him say this, so I dont know the specifics. But people can try to play it off all they want. Saban has NEVER openly said anything of that matter about any team he's coached....at least that I know of. Speaks a lot about the kind of team he has if true

The only thing I can recall him saying specifically was that the DLine had depth but not a ton of experience.

right, because Saban isn't one of the best coaches in the country. say what you will about it, but deep down, you know Bama is one game that is anything but a win

Do you remember what Mike Dubose said about Alabama at SEC Media days before the 2000 season?
Surely Saban said lots of negative stuff too. Seeing coaches say good stuff like that makes me nervous as hell.

just not a game i'm confident about. Only thing that favors us, is that Bama has a first year QB starter, that is still young......brah

Something about clearing off a conference table with a staff member?

Yes. I wanted to slap that stupid look off his face halfway through the season.

Yes im not debating that. Nothing Saban says about a practice is going to intimidate me though. If this intimidates the team its going to be a much longer season than anyone expects.

youre missing the point. Its not uncommon for Chavis to say things like that. When have you ever heard of Saban praising his team before the season. Especially comparing it every team he has ever coached

Will be among the best in the country.

Dont'a Hightower broke his hand. He did not know, and continued to practice, for 3 days. He had surgery and was back at practice the next day. Saban said it wasn't even as bad a break as the one Julio had before the UT game last year.

The players responded well to a practice? Holly shite Alabama should be number 1 now
