I understand why people think this, but let me offer some things to chew on. If Kenny Rodgers wasn't a central and apparently key figure in the solicitation, I would agree with you. Being that he was, I can easily see how MSU was the only school that was solicited. Not to mention, the more schools you ask, the more you risk getting caught unless you have a "trusted" inside source like Rodgers. Just food for thought.

I could have sworn that I heard Kenny Rogers say that he had a pre-existing relationship with Cecil/Cam ~ and helped advise them (about Blinn) when Cecil was deciding where Cam should go when he left Florida. If Rogers had any connections in the field of recruiting and helping players, he could have marketed Cam to any number of programs. Just so happened, he had an inside source to MSU ~ doesn't mean he didn't make contacts with UT, OU and AU. Just a thought.

It doesn't and I wasn't arguing that there is no way that Cecil solicited other schools, just pointing out why I don't think it stretches all reason to believe he only solicited MSU.

Later in the interview, Rogers said he and Cecil Newton first talked after Cam Newton left the Florida Gators following the 2008 season.

Rogers said he was involved with Cecil Newton only in regards to Mississippi State.
