Baton Rouge - LSU Vice Chancellor and Athletics Director Joe Alleva is being considered for the athletic director's position at Tennessee, according to two Twitter reports.

Alex Anderson, a Knoxville, Tenn., sports radio talk show host on ESPN 1180 tweeted that a source said Tennessee had reached agreement on a deal, which would be announced this week. Alleva has been athletic director at LSU since 2008.
Gannett's Glenn Guilbeau tweeted that Parker Search Firm interviewed Alleva in North Carolina on behalf of Tennessee, according to a soucrce at Tennessee.

South Carolina AD Eric Hyman and SMU AD Steve Orsini were also reportedly being considered for the job to replace Mike Hamilton, who resigned in June amid NCAA investigations of the Volunteers football and men's basketball programs.
