Why are those numbers continued to be used as Saban's base salary? He made those numbers off the 2009 season because of incentives surrounding the national title.

Actually, his salary was originally 8 years, 32 Million... but his base pay increases over time. He started out in 2007 at a little less than 3 Mil I believe... it has increased each year as a part of his original contract. Next year he'll be hauling in over 6 Mil, I believe.

ETA: It all averages out to be about 4 mil per year over 8 years.
