Not really. Woodruff knew the family before Calloway was a star on the football field. He has a preexisting relationship and therefore can give Winston as much money as he would like. Plus, you can't prove these cash payments - if they even happened - were made to get Calloway to Alabama. Winston and Woodruff have been good friends for years.

that's just wrong... you can't give money to influence a decision, no matter how long you've known someone. It would be up to the NCAA to determine if the money was paid to get Calloway to Alabama.

If that were the case, every highly recruited high school kid would have everyone in town giving him money/gifts/etc to influence their decision.

All these Bama fans hanging their hat on a "preexisting relationship" is crazy. Nobody knows how the NCAA will look at it. It's all wishful thinking at this point.

Here's the problem with this SBB article:

1. It fails to mention the fact that "Peaches" Winston owns 5 other houses, that's excluding the one his family lives in.

2. Winston rents out those houses and constantly has to reinvest in them to improve his capital. Hence the mortgages.

3. The year that mortgage was first taken out, as per the document, was in 2000 - 11 years ago. Winston claims the house his family lives in was paid off 15 years ago. So, one could deduce that this mortgage was for one of his rental homes. Therefore he did not lie.

4. SBB also fails to remember the words of Jeff Lee. Lee claims all of this stuff with the mortgages and cash payments went down just before Signing Day. This mortgage payment happened in September 2009 - a year and a half BEFORE Lee's conspiracy theory is supposed to have taken place
