I was talking to my dad yesterday about high school football in other states and we talked a little about Tennessee, my sister lives in Seymore, and he mentioned he use to watch a lot in the Springfield area in the early 70s when he lived there. Anyhow, he mentioned Colonel Sanders was a big fan of the local teams and came to all the games. Pretty cool imo... Anyone else remember this or have similar stories of American icons

I thought you said the story was cool?

ETA: Dave Thomas used to coach my little league baseball team.

NO one in fast food should be an American icon.

While this may be true, Colonel Sanders is one of the most recognizable figures both here and overseas. FYI, Dave Thomas and Colonel Sanders are linked in business and both have foundations that have given millions to charity, so in my book bring considered an icon is warranted and appreciated
