Dan Mullen on the transfer:
Maye on the transfer:
On paper, Maye becomes the favorite to take over the starting spot at middle linebacker, which is currently led by senior Brandon Wilson. Maye set a school record with five forced fumbles and reached triple digits in tackles in 2009, but his playing time and production (43 tackles) were cut in half last season as a redshirt junior.

We’re excited to welcome Brandon to our family after he graduates with honors from Clemson,” Mullen said in the statement. “He’s a wonderful kid, model student-athlete and a talented football player.”
“Brandon has experience playing at the highest level of college football and will bring that knowledge with him to our team,” Mullen said. “He also knows nothing will be given to him and he will have to work hard this summer to help us on the field this fall.”
Maye on the transfer:
quote:
“My goal for next season is to come in and help that unit,” Maye said. “It’s a unit that has already been a high-rated defense and a top 25 team. I want to be able to bring in a different dimension with my experience to what they already have there. My goal is to, of course, start and lead the guys to the SEC championship and be a good part of that. I’m not trying to come in and be a hero, but I’m coming in and bringing what I’ve got to the table.”

He has dreads. Automatically my new favorite player on the team.
