lol at all the Bammers listing Robert fricking Horry over people like Bob Pettit and Dominique Wilkins

Bob Pettit was a 2 time NBA MVP, 10 time All NBA 1st team and 1 time All NBA 2nd team, 11 time all-star (played 11 seasons), 4 time all star MVP, 2 time NBA scoring champion, made the top 50 NBA greats list, he averaged at least 20ppg and 12 rebounds in EVERY season that he played, when he retired he was the NBA's all-time scoring leader and 2nd in all-time rebounds, still ranks 3rd all-time with 16.2 rebounds per game for his career (behind Wilt and Bill Russell). He also scored 50 on Bill Russell in the clinching game 6 of the NBA Finals to win the NBA title.

Robert Horry averaged 7 ppg for his career and never made an all-star team.

LOL at anyone listing Bob Pettit in this discussion. He was an unbelievable player, but he has and never will be mentioned in any discussion with the best ever. The average fan has no clue who played for, when he played, and couldn't tell you if he was black or white.

This thread begins and ends with Shaq. There are certain players that people remember through the ages (i.e. Russell, Chamberlain, Bird, Magic, Jordan, Havlicek, West, etc.) and Shaq is one of them.

And layoff Horry. He rode nobody's coat tails. He was an important part of every team he played on, and was directly involved in winning several playoff and championship games. He was never a "STAR" on any team, but he is hands down the best role player of all-time and deserves some mention for the Hall of Fame - though he probably will never get serious consideration.
