Per Tony Jones, Scotty Hopson is questionable for the game.
Predictions.
I think the Vols have enough to win with or without Hopson, especially if Brian Williams can continue to play the way he has.
Should be much more closely contested than our game last night, but I like our chances at home.
Tenn - 64
Alabama - 57

'Bama's the best in the west by a landslide IMO Jed. I say you win a close one if Hopson plays. Without him...it's a tossup and 'Bama could pull it off.

I agree they're the best, but Arkansas isn't far behind.
I think it's a toss up with or without Hopson.
Bone is a solid player, and despite his defiencies on offense McBee brings a dimension to the team Hopson doesn't.
Creates turnovers, doesn't turn it over, passes really well, and plays 100% all the time.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have Hopson back, but TN may be the only team in the SEC deep enough to win games without their leading scorer.

Well we will certainly find out a bit more about where we stand after this week. If we could manage a split in the two road games at Tennessee and Vandy I'd be happy.
Doesn't hurt us that Hopson might be out and they played a road game Thursday night but they are deep so that should offset that somewhat.

Game is on Fox Sports South for those who are wondering.

A split in the next two games is what I'm hoping for.
Bama is doing all the little things it takes to win games. Tough defense, diving for loose balls, contesting passes, rebounding, etc. Tennessee does those same things pretty well themselves, and they have enough talent to overcome Hopson not being available.
Should be a tough, physical game. I'll go
Bama 65
UT 61

Hopson possibly being out makes this close, but got to give the nod to UT at home.

It's the deciding factor for me.
It's tough to get wins on the road in this league.
TBA will have 20,000 strong, and the crowd will be ready for Alabama.

Home court is definitely a huge factor in this one. Fully expect TBA to be rocking and who knows maybe you can get full capacity. How many does TBA hold around 25k?

It did before the renovation. Now it holds right under 22

i wouldnt be surprised to see us really struggle offensively in this game. if i was Tony Jones i would press us the ENTIRE game. Its gonna be hard to continue our dominance in the paint + we are going to have to stroke the deep ball+ their depth >>>>>> Our depth
UT 68
UA 55

I will say Alabama has had one of the easier conference schedules to date.
They'll probably fall back to the pack a little bit.
I still think the game is a toss up though.

quote:well they should make a note to against us. They could really tire Releford and get into our bench and we will get lazy and turn the ball over. But i hope yall dont. (Why do you think UK came back? Press.)

Tennessee hasn't really played anyone either.
UT on short rest, without top scorer, will be the difference.
Alabama is not there yet in talent.. but heart, will win this game. Bama 65 UT 61

UGA, Vandy, and UF
And about 6 or 7 ooc games against tournament teams.
Oakland, Belmont, Pitt, Uconn, Nova, Virginia Commonwealth...you don't have the number 1 SOS in the country by not playing anybody.
