The 29 against us this year includes the verbals of Cooper and Mauldin, who may not commit afterall. That would leave us with 27, and Clowney would make 28. That means 3 kids would have to go without scholly. Most coaching staffs who do this know the players well enough to know which ones will even qualify, and who is willing to grayshirt/walk on.

Also, I think it is pretty standard across the SEC for at least 2 not to qualify. So, if the 2 you mentioned that are waivering sign elsewhere, USC has no problems.
