The SECCG was by far the best overall defensive game for our D. Playing 11 games straight AU still has a slight depth issue and had to start players in secondary that have experience, heart and grit but not stellar in coverages partly because AU plays soft in first half. Although, they ramp up aggressiveness in second half along with great adjustments by DC. AU does have talented freshman that come in for spells, but need more development. With no game to follow it will be more aggressive and leave everything on the field like SECCG.
Obviously our D-Line is the shining star for our D with Bynes at LB who is a great leader and sound in all facets at LB. I will say our secondary has come through when it counts and the D as whole do not ever quit and feel the game cannot be won. They do not let mistakes and big plays mess with their focus (A very big intangible in my opinion).
I see some potential mismatches, but I am excited to see the game and watch it play out on the field.
