with that said, you are saying that it was just as stupid when LSU fans kept hearing, mostly from Bama fans, that Miles was winning with Saban's players?

Yes. The whole "winning with someone else's players" thing only works if the new coach is not recruiting well himself. Miles has recruited just as well as Saban.

There have been a shitload of LSU fans saying the same thing. I'm not sure how you've determined it's mostly Bama fans.
Which is it? Did Saban ruthlessly run Shula's recruits out of the program, or did he rely on them to win games?

Can we all stow the "other coach's players" comments? Its gotten really old. I know the fans of all other schools were relentless about saying this about Miles, but it was silly then and its silly to turn it around on them now.

I think it only applies when a coach wins his first year after taking over for someone. Who cares who recruited and signed Glen Dorsey or Terrance Cody, they were coached for 3 years by 1 coach vs 1 for the previous coach. Both the 07 LSU and 09 Bama teams had plenty of guys recruited and signed by both the current and previous coaches.
