Has he seen any playing time this year?

I remember a few years ago AU fans were pissed when he switched to Bama after Tubs before signing day. AU fans really wanted him, then called him a dumbass for going to bama and told him to enjoy riding the pine and the practice squad. He probably would have played as a true freshman last year at AU considering Bynes and Stevens never left the field.

Just wondering as I have not noticed him on the field this year.

I know he grey-shirted his first year here. Haven't seen him on the field yet.

I don't think he's played yet. That doesn't mean he won't get his chance. Maybe he didn't want to go play for a shitty team just because it was the easy way?

Gray shirted his first year and I believe he is redshirting this year. So you say he could've been playing at AU last year, hmmm. Well, I read a few good things about him during the spring and during fall camp but there's really just too much depth and experience in front of him right now though. Remember Jonathan Atchison switched his commitment from the barn to Bama also and you guys almost got Tana Patrick. They've all really helped Bama as far as being quality athletes filling up spots on the practice squad.

Ok. Thanks.

Was just wondering. Always thought it was not the greatest decision to go to the team that had the deepest linebacking corps in college football vs the team he originally committed to who his brother plays for that had zero linebacking depth.

He really wanted to play for James Willis.

Yeah, Bama's linebacking depth is just off the charts. They could probably field a starting linebacker that would be pretty good for about every team in the SEC.

Meanwhile, AU is converting safeties and playing true freshmen in every game.

He had no idea that the barn was gonna buy Cam Newton in the fall of 2009 and that he would lead them to a national championship, so he just picked the team that's got the best chance to play for a championship year in and year out.

Well, as a player, I would rather be playing on a team than not playing on a team that wins a trophy that I never played a single down for.

exactly like 2010. they had a shot until they lost 2 games and without an undefeated cheating barn, they would still have shot. but whatever, check back this time next year and you'll see what i'm talking about. I think I need to go ahead and buy the domain name firegenechizik.com

Seriously, look at that. All freshman. Two things.

1. Anyone playing linebacker that wants to sign with Bama better think long and hard.

2. Some of those listed will get run off this year (medical hardship, or whatever). Book that.

Unreal. Have to admit, I do not understand the thought process (if there is one) for a linebacker signing with bama. You run a VERY real risk of being cut. About 25-30% of the class bama signs will have to be cut this year (or other players on the team will have to go).

I mean bama has the deepest, most talented linebacking group in all of college football. Couple that with what, 7 seniors and a few juniors go pro and a signing class of 25? Bama is gonna HAVE to get rid of about a dozen players after spring training.

Good for Bama having all that depth, but it does make me shake my head at a linebacker signing with bama right now.

Vinny will never play a down at Bama. He is there because he is a coaches son.

Yeah, you can play who doesn't fit and I think the 5'11 190lber wins on that list.

I've actually heard Saban wants to put him at H-back. But yeah, he's got a scholly because he's a coaches son.
