Is this the admission everyone is talking about?
Another (can you bleive it???) unnamed source told an Atlanta tv reporter that Cecil admitted to asking for money but that neither Cam nor Mrs Newton knew about it. Every other outlet to report the same story has used WSB TV as the source of said story.
Right now anything and everything is pretty much hearsay.

So . . . in summary, then, all we know (or all we think we know) is that financially strapped and desperate dad knows he is sitting on a golden goose and decides to go shopping. I've read nothing that seems to indicate that Cam knew anything about the dealings. If true, shame on dad for putting his son in this position and shame on the media for convicting Cam without evidence (anyone remember the Duke Lacrosse team?).
The question then becomes did money, in fact, change hands? I'm sure this will be borne out during the investigation. And if the answer is "yes," I would tend to believe it was done by boosters and not the university proper. Regardless, if so, Auburn, rightly or wrongly, will get slammed by the NCAA with sanctions . . . and the booster or those responsible will get no form of punishment whatsoever.
