Investigation could help Cam

It seems that Auburn officials are pretty confident in the case. The key words "Unfortunately" is important when said "Unfortunately, we can not speak on that matter" makes me feel better. To me, it says that they wish they could say why they aren't in trouble, which the NCAA won't let them do at this point.
Cam Newton resists temptation for money could be a nice segment added to his Heisman story. I can't wait until all you haters bite your tongue.

Indeed, I just wanted to throw that out. I'm about 8 hours ahead in time and just saw this on the news a little while ago. I'm out too. Enjoy your time praying Bammers..

How can the NCAA possibly say sorry Auburn you can't defend yourself? You have unsubstantiated reports all the over the place and people jumping to absurd conclusions and you just have to sit back and let it happen? If AU is innocent in all this there is no way they shouldn't be able to come out and say so.

Yeah, I've heard fantasy land is pretty nice this time of year.

Auburn hasn't been accused of anything...do people actually pay attention?

I think you know the answer to that one

Cam must be the unluckiest guy in America. First he gets a laptop he didn't know was stolen and now he gets a scholarship he didn't know was paid for.
Get familiar with the phrase "willful blindness." It doesn't save your arse in a criminal court and it won't in the NCAA hearings.

I think you are way over-reading the word "unfortunately" - and definitely spinning it to mean something positive when the opposite might be true
I can't see any rational reason why Auburn couldn't be more forthcoming if they didn't have anything to hide - someone help me out here

Wow is that a rosy view of the situation - IMO his candidacy for the Heisman just went from slam dunk to highly unlikely. And the idea that someone was asking for money on his behalf without him (or his father) doing part of the asking is kinda

Auburn doesn't have a choice about whether to stay quiet or speak.
There is a current NCAA investigation into this matter (whether it involves Auburn or not). IMO AU has been ordered, as a member NCAA institution, to remain quiet. Especially the head coach.
That is why there has been "anonymous sources from within the athletic dept" that have been leaking info.

I'm not sure I understand that - esp I'm not sure why Auburn would have been ordered to be quiet on the situation
It seems to me most schools make somewhat informative statements on the process at least - North Carolina and USC come to mind. Help me out again please - why would they completely mute Auburn on this? If this were Bama I don't think you'd believe that explanation

Keep saying that over and over and soon you may start believing it.

There is no way anyone knows anything condemning Auburn without some inside sources as of now. There are no accusations being brought against us and no evidence to condemn us. It's all about Kenny Rogers.

No one cares. Cam still plays for Auburn. Him and his dad are dirty scumbags and they will be chastised on the SEC Rant.
What do you expect?

Cam has done a good bit of charity work during his time at Auburn. I'm getting weary of reading this crap, he's a good kid.

I found this funny when I read it a year or so ago, but now I think it makes sense..

When asked if he'd ever play in the SEC again, Cam Newton was quoted as saying: "Yea I'd play just about anywhere in the SEC, except Auburn. I wouldn't play there even if they paid me."

I find that incredibly hard to believe because even in his initial recruitment out of high school we were high on his radar.
