The kid posted tweets knowing he was in danger and did nothing about it. That part I just don't understand.

No shite. It's fricking gusting to 60 mph you are voluntarily on a scissor lift 50 feet up? That is incredibly stupid from all parties involved including the victim. I am shocked.

Coaches should have let him off the hook.

Coaches and AD dept are to blame. You cannot expect a worker to walk off the job, even a less-than-minimum wage student job.
He was probably paying his meal money that way.
I worked for the AD when I was in school.
They expect you to show up and do your thing without having to babysit you.

So it goes. Sounds like he was at peace with it, in some humorous way.

This may contribute to the end of Kelley. His 4-4 record is bad.

Its not hard to understand. It's human nature to be obedient to authority.
