His teams are very poorly coached and his staff is extremely disorganized. He is a piss poor recruiter on top of this. I realize Tennessee "should" have lost to all 5 teams we have lost to, but Dooley has been just awful so far in almost every aspect. A lot of people here said they thought he was going to surprise people and do well. Anyone still believe this?

I thought the first half of the Oregon game was good....

There was a 0% chance of Dooley doing well this year. Give him time, this is only his first season coaching a top-tier program. Yeah, things are rough, but be patient. I think if you give him time, he will return UT back to respectability.

All I can say Is it seems every time I see him he's throwing a damn hissy fit on the sidelines

Have faith.
Tennesse has depth issues. I would be encouraged with they way y'all played in the first half against Oregon, Florida, Bama. Lsu you should have won.
Kiffen left y'all late in the recruiting cycle and Dooley had to scramble a staff together.
Alot of young guys are playing and shite will happen.
Was at the game and am shocked at the
level of disdain already built up for Dooley
from Tennessee fans.
This season is what it is.
But if Dooley does not make necessary staff
changes then it will ruin him. He can and up
like his mentor, or end up like Shula.

His teams athletic talent is POOO! Give him time. Saban disciple. All will succeed. I would take him at LSU!!

Just because he's a Saban disciple doesn't mean he is as good as Saban. They just believe in the same type of gameplan.

I think it's way too early to start judging Dooley. It's really easy (and intellectually dishonest) to heap the blame for all of Tennessee's woes in recruiting and organization on Derek Dooley.
The bottom line is that Tennessee's foundations are still unsteady because of the Fulmer-Kiffen disaster, and Hamilton doesn't help matters one bit.
You motherfrickers need to rally behind Dooley and try... try to make his job even the slightest bit easier. And that means not ditching from Neyland in the third and fourth quarters, like what happened again last night.
A lot of 'Bama fans might not admit it, but we don't want Tennessee to be a cupcake game. I'd rather see two teams which have blown out every other game on the schedule meet for a 7-6 or 14-10 game.
Hell, I may still make bad fun of you assholes, but with Fulmer gone, with the blow from Kiffin and the season you're currently having, I'm quickly running out of reasons to hate you like I have.
Maybe next year I'll hate you the way I did before fatass ever came to Knoxville, and this rivalry can regain some of its respectability.

The rivalry was going this way with Kiffin. See last year's game for proof. He knows how to win, recruit, and assemble a staff. His gameplan vs. Bama was also better. It is not our fault that Kiffin left us and we were left with a WAC loser.

Kiffin leaving was the best thing that could happen to your football program. Especially since slick Pearl decided to frick up on the basketball part of the Athletic Department.

Yeah, and Kiffin was a loudmouthed shite stirrer. Fortunately, his cowardly arse packed up and left town before he could do any more damage than he already did. The problem is that, in doing so, he killed what little momentum Tennessee had left after the Fulmer fiasco.
Kiffin's leaving did a lot more than just create a coaching void. You guys are going to have to admit this to yourselves. The sooner, the better. He torpedoed the recruiting class and left Hamilton and the Tennessee football program in general a laughingstock. Are you really surprised that Dooley can't recruit? The deck is completely stacked against him at this point.
Back off him a little bit, brah.

Fixed. Most people around the SEC hated him, but he is roughly 1000000000x better offensive coach than Mr. WAC and he had the best recruiting staff in the nation. Pretty dumb statement after you struggled to beat a pretty bad Tennessee team at home last year due to being outcoached. I tried to convince UF fans that Zook was a good coach too though.

Yeah because Dooley has shown the ability to get guys like Justin Hunter, Corey Miller, Janzen Jackson, Jacques Smith, Jawaun James, etc. Without the work Kiffin did last year in recruiting, our freshmen would be just as bad as our upperclassmen.

Ignore the fact that Pearl has the NCAA breathing down your neck now and they already have a huge dislike of Kiffin. If Kiffin was still there sanctions would be coming down quicker than any Tennessee fan wants to admit

Fulmer never pulled in a good class until late so Dooley cannot be judged on his recruiting ability yet.
The fact that UT can Consistently hang with good teams for at least a half shows me that the coaches can put a good game plan together and when executed it works. With a little more seasoning and depth UT will be good, imo.
I can handle rookie mistakes by a young team but the inability of the coaches to count and shite like that is unacceptable week after week. Julio wide open at the goal line was asinine.
I had no delusions about how this season would go and by no means have given up on Dooley but he has to get the game day stuff he can control under control.

Kiffin has never done anything that could bring down sanctions at USC or Tennessee.

Probably the only SEC coach I wouldn't take over LES
Posted on 10/24/10 at 12:52 pm to volfan30
Kiffin is a much better coach than Dooley. It isn't close. Hopefully you guys get a better coach soon, I hate seeing the East so down.

Consider why they hated him. He tried to make people hate him. That's not what football should be about. I'm taking all the shite-talk pretenses down at this point and am being dead serious. He was bad for this conference.

Perhaps so, and he'd probably be a good OC somewhere, but he's a reprehensible head coach.

A matter of opinion, but I won't question Orgeron's bona fides as a recruiting master.

Any given Saturday, bro. Not only that, but any (honest) Alabama or Tennessee fan will tell you that stats and record books go out the window on the Third Saturday. That's a bullshite argument and you know it. You guys played one of your best games of the year and we were making mistakes that you were able to capitalize on.
Don't fall into the trap that so many fans fall into of trying to take the human element out of the game. The intangibles are still important in every game, bro.

I'm not saying Dooley is a "good" coach. I'm saying that you guys need to give him the benefit of time to at least try to right the ship. If he fricks up and can't get anything going after a reasonable amount of time, then by all means. Fire his arse.

Phil Fulmer has destroyed the Tennessee program more than anyone else. Say what you will about Kiffin but he was only there for one year. Dooley is just starting out. I don't see how anybody can blame those two men for the mess Tennessee is in right now.
