What has changed for AU this year?

Other than Cam Newton, what has changed for Auburn this year that makes people so sure that they are going to blow LSU out? Is the team that much better than the one LSU blew out last year? LSU's defense is way better than last year and the QB who will hopefully get the vast majority of the snaps led a comeback win in Jordan-Hare as a Freshman two years ago. I just don't think it's going to be a blowout either way.

Its all Cam, and don't underestimate him...he is very legit!

How many times will this be posted this week? I havent seen one AU poster who said this is going to be a blowout.

woopig and a handful of auburn posters think they will handle LSU easily, but the vast majority of Auburn fans on this board are calling for a close game.

They have their amazing QB, but we still have the only QB who lead us to a win in JHS is this decade! If Les has done anything magnificently over the past few years, its game plan well and beat/dominate Auburn.

You think Les gameplans? that is comical

My best friend lives 20 minutes from Auburn and all the Auburn fans he knows seem to think it's going to be a cakewalk. The few I know from that area seem to feel the same way. I'm not just talking about Auburn fans, though. It seems like hardly anybody outside the state of Louisiana thinks LSU is going to win. I was just wondering if this was all based on Cam Newton (who I agree is a beast) or if there is another reason people are so high on Auburn this year.

Using the worst Auburn team the past decade to validate your point?
Flawless.

Don't know of any Auburn fans who think it will be a blowout.
Our run defense is 100x's better than last year.
101 yds/game vs 156 yds/game
Pretty significant improvement.

I could see J Lee being more confident since he led a comeback win there when Auburn was ranked in the top 10.

If you really want to know, our defensive line has been upgraded to a huge degree.
Our linebacking corps are decent with Bynes being one of the best in the conference, and Bates being pretty good. Stevens isn't great though.
Our secondary is exactly as putrid as it was last year, maybe moreso losing guys like Walt McFadden...
On offense we returned a good bit of people and upgraded at QB to a huge degree. Todd sucked under pressure, Newton doesn't.
Our offensive line is better, and Tate has been replaced by Fannin and Dyer. McCalleb is actually healthy this year, he was injured last year against LSU.

So is Auburn the only team to improve since last season.
Did every other team in the SEC stand still and watch?
Is it possible that LSU could be a better team than the one that beat you 31-10 last year?
That was a cakewalk.

Thanks for the info. I was just curious. I think it will be a close game and I hope LSU comes out on top. Good luck to y'all. I've been to Auburn the last 4 times we played there but won't be able to make it this year. It sucks beause this should be a really good game.
