IMO he certainly is. The defenses in the SEC are too good and too fast to have someone back there that does not present any running threat. Having a guy like Newton is almost like having 2 offenses one team. You have the playbook and then you have him innovating when the play breaks down.

Not many QB's have his arm strength and speed, though.

This mobile QB experiment is nothing new. A lot of teams have tried this and failed...Brent Schaffer, Kodi Burns, Larry Smith, Syvelle Newton, etc.
