Coaches are responsible for having players focused and ready to execute. If it goes on for multiple years, it's coaching.
this response was totally predictable. every football player at every level of competition knows to not do these things. also, this hasn't gone on multiple years. it's been a year and a half. in '08 the offense was good with the exception of lee's dubious record.

even if the coaches are the blame for the lack of "focus" in the passing game, why aren't the coaches equally responsible for all the things the team is doing really well? why are fans so upset about one half of one phase of the game? the response isn't proportionate to the problem.

lsu hasn't lost to jax st or ulm at home and isn't 1-4

If you consider stats "good" then you are correct, LSU was "good" in '08.

However, I think of "good" in real football terms:

You know, not fumbling,
not throwing int's,
not committing facemasks on key downs,
not committing PI's,
not roughing the passer,
not having false starts,
not holding on 3rd downs or TD completions,
not taunting after a score,
not throwing pick 6's
not mis-managing the clock
not calling timeouts after a timeout due to a penatly
not calling a long FG against the wind
not encroaching the line
not getting a delay of game on 3rd dwn

All of those have happened repeatedly over '08, '09' and this year.
