Define what that is to you. His yards per game has been low, but his yards per carry sits at 5. Since when is 5 yards a carry average? He hasn't got the touches until the South Carolina game where he was pegged the starting running back.

5 yards per carry is better than average, but not great when you put it in context. His average wouldn't be that high if it wasn't for Newton drawing so much attention from the defense. All I'm saying is, if Newton gets hurt, AU is screwed.

Here is where I can tell you're not around football as much as others here. When your focal star of your football team goes down you don't try to replicate his production through another player, you change the game plan.

If Newton goes down, we go back to the "gimmicky" quick shoot passing offense that we had last year, with relief coming from Dyer/McCalebb.

Malzahn ran a really good offense with Chris Todd, he can do it again with Barrett Trotter, who can actually run too.
