Some of you UGA fans are full pf pride. I get that and assume you are young. The point is you have a nationally respected coach and a great program. We are in the SEC. It's getting harder to repeat as a champion in this league. Getting rid of a top tier coach is not a way of going about achieving the next level unless you have a proven winner or "something better" step in at the same level or better. UF bet on Meyer and won, OM bet on Ogre and lost, LSU bet on Miles and is losing. Bama did NOT bet on Saban and is irrelevant. Same goes for Chizik. I would be surprised if he equalled the same record as Tubberville at AU when his time is up. Time will tell. IMO it's not really "settling" to keep MR. good luck

Excellent post Slo. I said it earlier in the thread, but if we canned Richt nobody in their right mind who we KNOW would be better would come here. There are VERY few proven commodities out there, and none would leave their current school to come replace Richt. You could draw a loose comparison to us and the latter part of Tubbs' tenure at Auburn. Only difference is we've won more than he did. We've recruited better, won more titles, etc. They took a chance on an unproven head coach and the jury is still out. I would sure hate to replace Richt with someone who is unproven that we're "taking a shot" on.
