Why is Mark Gottfried on ESPN's Tournament Breakdown?

He has been calling games on the SEC Network, now this. Was his buyout not enough to pay for fallout of the affair?

SEC Network is ESPN. Same deal. I bet he hardly has a pot to pee in after his "hole-in-one".

I think that Mark does a good job as well. You Gumps should move on and forget about him. Yall's new coach is doing a good job and the future looks bright for Alabama basketball IMO.

I never kept up with this affair. I didn't care about that, but I do think he should be outlawed from setting foot inside Alabama. We should have fired him after the elite 8 season, that would have been ice cold.

Damn thats pretty damn harsh. I always thought the guy was a pretty good coach and always brought in good talent to Tuscaloosa. Its amazing how you Gumps turn on your own (Shula and Gottfried) if they dont live up to your expectations.
Saying that Gottfried should NEVER be allowed to set foot inside the state of Alabama is absurd! Its his home state, where he played college ball, give the guy a friggin break.

Dude I'm kidding. How do you enforce that? I'm certain Gottfried could somehow manage to set foot on Alabama from time to time just to mess with us. Its exaggerating for effect. I immensely disliked him as a coach. In reality I don't hope anything bad happens to him. What did he fail at? He won SEC titles at Bama and took yall to the NCAA tournament and even made an Elite 8 for God's Sake.

Interesting that Mark Gottfried advanced further than any coach in gump history. I don't think he was a great coach, but he was pretty solid, just a little inconsistent like his buddy John Brady.
ETA: I think Gottfried is great on the SEC Network. He has inside out knowledge of the SEC.

I thought he was OK. Nothing special. And fwiw I don't hate the guy. He is a bama alum, just like shula. They just lost their way at some point.
