per C.Low.
Only two SEC teams -- Florida and LSU -- have winning records over the last five seasons against Top 25 teams in the final polls. Florida is 14-9, while LSU is 13-11.
In fact, seven of the 12 SEC teams -- Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, South Carolina and Vanderbilt -- have managed five or fewer wins against teams that finished in the Top 25 of the final polls over the last five seasons.
Alabama is 10-12 during that period, but the Crimson Tide are 7-2 over the last two seasons and 5-0 during their 2009 national championship season. Georgia has gone the other way. The Bulldogs are 8-12, which includes a 2-6 mark over the last two seasons.
Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee are all winless the last two seasons against teams that finished in the Top 25 of the final polls.
Here’s the breakdown:
Florida – 14-9 (.609)
LSU – 13-11 (.542)
Alabama – 10-12 (.455)
Auburn – 8-12 (.400)
Georgia – 8-12 (.400)
Tennessee – 5-17 (.227)
Ole Miss – 4-14 (.222)
South Carolina – 5-19 (.208)
Arkansas – 3-20 (.130)
Kentucky – 2-17 (.105)
Vanderbilt – 2-17 (.105)
Mississippi State 2-20 (.091)

So if you have a few teams in the conference that win almost all their games... and they finish top 25 then your conference sucks because all the other teams have a bunch of losses to them?
Garbage statistic... more meaningful to look at ooc games against comparable opponents

Eh... yes and no. Remember, this stat is based off wins and losses to these supposed "crappy" top 25 teams from other conferences. Apparently they aren't so crappy if you have a losing record against them neh?

the records are based on wins and losses against in conference and out of conference teams
therefore if you have a few teams winning almost all their games and winning bcs games/national championships... the rest of the teams in your conference are going to have a bad record

I'll put it another way so people can get how stupid this is when you include in conference games:
It would be all but impossible for a conference to have even a .500 record against top 25 teams in their own conference... because if they did then the teams would no longer be top 25

So Bama went 3-10 in 05', 06' 07'? That suprises me, with only 2 losses in 2005, something doesn't sound right.

Seriously, based on these #'s Bama went 1-8 against the top 25 in 06' and 07'?

Most of these Top 25 teams are SEC teams.
This is more like SEC vs. SEC
