"Auburn's offensive coordinator (Gus Malzahn) told me that if I came there, that I would be the only running back they sign in that class," said Calloway. "They said they want to make me a feature back. I think I am really going to be more suited for defense anyway in college. Right now I am already about 217 pounds and almost 6-foot-3. I love playing offense, but if defense is where I need to be to get to the next level, that is where I will play."
Calloway missed the Tide's first Junior Day two weekends ago but has plans to be in Tuscaloosa for the second event on February 20.
"I hated that I missed the first Junior Day because I wanted to catch up with a lot of guys. I have made a lot of friends visiting Tuscaloosa, both other prospects and players. It is really became like home for me. I didn't miss too many games last fall, and I won't miss many this fall either.
"My commitment to Alabama is solid. I am going to go through the recruiting process and take visits, but I told Coach Saban that when I committed and he was fine with it. It is something that I need to do because I really haven't been anywhere else."
Calloway has an interesting list of schools on his agenda to visit in terms of geography.
"I sort of want to go out when I take my official visits to places I have never seen or may never get to see. I know I want to visit Miami, FSU, USC and Oregon. Maybe Georgia Tech and Florida, but those first four schools for sure," said Calloway. "I will go to Alabama a lot unofficially obviously and take an official there too."
Calloway holds current offers from Alabama, Auburn, USC, Vandy and is expecting to receive one soon from Mississippi State.
