so how is auburn gonna compete for the west again? I know you had a decent class but bama and lsu have been getting decent classes for a while now. also, if you auburn fans are predicting freshman to come in and save the day,it'll be a long season for you. what did cheesedick do? dial "1 800 a sec defense" and poof auburn has one. you made lsu's inept offense look like all americans. also you don't have the horses to run that gimmick offense in the sec.

We are bringing in the #1 JUCO QB in the nation.
We return 4 senior offensive linemen who have started nearly their entire time at Auburn.
We are bringing in a 330 pound tackle from Juco to play Right Tackle.
We are bringing in the #1 running back in the nation, returning Onterio and have most of our offense returning such as Adams and Zach.
The defense will have depth at linebacker and will be able to rotate to get some rest.
In the second half of 2009 the defense was as good as the second half of 2007 in nearly every category.
If Auburn reduces the yards per possession by the other team by 3-4 yards it would put us at the 25th ranked defense in the nation. That is a very achievable goal for next year. Also we have several linebackers on campus now ready for spring ball. Whittaker will play immediately and is expected to make a strong impact early. Fairley will be at 3 technique next year and should be solid since he's used to playing a full season and hopefully will stay healthy.
Simply put Auburn's offense was 16th ranked this year when Todd stated he couldn't make all of the passes Gus wanted. Newton can and easily does make those throws as he can throw 70 yards. We have the ability to put a top 10 offense on the field next year if Newton is just an average QB if he lives up to potential you could see a very dangerous offense that other teams will simply have to try and out score us. The defense will make great strides next year as we never tried to get pressure as we simply couldn't risk things due to no depth at safety and linebackers so our game plan was VERY conservative.
