I can't even begin to tell you how influential Mack Brown has been to Texas football. His teams have won 10 or more games for 9 straight years. The loss to Bama is his first bowl loss in God knows when. He runs a clean program, genuinely cares for his players, loves UT and Austin, and in turn he is beloved here. Our football stadium will soon be 2nd to none thanks to the increased revenue the program brings in, not only from ticket sales, but also from alumni contributions. He has re-energized a fan base that was prone to showing up late, sitting on their hands, and leaving early. Texas games are fun again. DKR is loud and intimidating, two words that were never used to describe it before Mack got here. It goes so much deeper than just winning games. By the time he retires, he may eclipse Texas' own version of Bear Bryant (Darryl Royal) as our school's most revered football coach.

This.

I knew I was right. Well said.

This is interesting...

Per Rivals

06 Top 100 Texas Recruits
Tech 12 ranked #26
Texas 20 ranked #5
TAMU 12 ranked #25

05 Top 100 Texas Recruits
Tech 8 not Ranked on list I had
Texas 11 not Ranked on list I had
TAMU 16 ranked #6

04 Top 100 Texas Recruits
Tech 5 ranked #33
Texas 17 ranked #10
TAMU 13 ranked #13

Top 100 total headcount:

UT 48
AG 41
TT 25

Now, either Rivals is way off on Aggie only or someone can't A. Coach B. Eval C. Win

Looking at this, one would think Aggie has a little bit of a foothold and could take Texas to the limit. Instead, Mack and Co. hold them off and only have OU in their B12S way. And in Fran's defense (OT), does the above look like he left "the cupboard bare" which allows for the subsequent Aggie "we're young" hullabaloo?

Mack is worth every cent.
