Well you can make an argument that defense is the best ever. Brutal.

I think in order to make a claim like this you have to be great on both sides of the ball which Bama is not with their lackluster offense.

Still a great team though.

8 AP recognized NC's + 5 NC's that pre-date the AP

(just so we're clear)

Didn't people here and the national media discredit a few?

Averaging 32 points a game isn't lackluster. Just because we score those points by pounding it out, controlling the clock and letting our bruisers make plays doesn't mean we didn't have a great offense. Our offense did exactly what it was meant to do... control the game.

Did not do this in second half.

Beat me to it. Maybe best ever Bama team, but not on the best team ever list

Regardless... we scored 37 points on Texas (only 1 pick six)... Over 30 points on UF... And all that with NO QB production vs UT and only some in the UF game... cracked ribs and all.. U know

In Bama fans' minds, that's great. I doubt they'll get as much respect from the rest of the country. Time will tell.

God gumps are fricking ridiculous. You couldn't just be happy with the BCSNC.....now you have to claim that you are among the best teams ever. You were a great team, but to say your offense was awesome is just retarded. Your running game carried you all year. Your QB is middle of the pack in the SEC and your defense set you up with great field position throughout the year.

I don't even care about these types of arguments that much really but 14-0 maybe hasn't gotten enough talk. Very difficult to do these days.

I don't know if I can name another team who played a tougher schedule during the regular season - ran through it undefeated, and then came out and dominated both championship games the way that Bama did this year. Nebraska of 1995 and Miami of 2001 might be the only teams worth mentioning in the same sentence. JMHO. I'm a homer though.
