If you remember what brought him down, it was the accusation of helping a broke married player with a kid maybe try to get a loan at a bank. And that is an accusation that was never proven. Dye claims he told the bank to treat him as any other customer. Ramsey was a bitter and desperate player that also received a few thousand dollars in total in sums of a couple of hundred here and there and some free steaks over his entire career. It was why he was so broke he tried to get a loan, was unable, then tried to blackmail AU.

Hell, if we were like Bama, we would have just given him tens of thousands and never had a problem.

Probably didn't help that influencing money institutions to help a player is against NCAA rules.
