A number of Alabama players wanted to give Coach Nick Saban the Gatorade treatment near the end of the SEC Championship Game on Saturday, only junior linebacker Rolando McClain stopped them.

"I told the guys this is a big win, but it's not the biggest win," said McClain, who dumped out the containers. "I told them if we win the national championship put whatever you want on him. But until them we're not going to drench the coach in Gatorade.

"It wasn't the right time for it. I didn't want the guys to fell like the SEC Championship that was it. It's not. We have the biggest game of or life out there."
Senior cornerback Javier Arenas thought there was an addition reason as well.

"He knew that volcano would erupt," Arenas said.

That's not what I heard.

Rumor is Ro told them he'd rip their f'in heads off, fill their necks with confetti, and use them at the national championship game.

It's a little harsh, but he made the point.

I know. That is a great story and speaks about him as a leader IMO.

I saw the guys over by the gatorade and kept waiting for them to douse him, but it never happened. I thought maybe he sniffed it out and put the whammy on it. I'm glad it was Ro who did it. And what a great reason!

HA HA HA. I saw the prep for the bath, and was waiting for the fireworks to go off. F'ing with Sabans hair is about as bad as fumbling the ball. I wondered why they stopped. Good post. Might want to go with Powerade though in the NC.

I wondered what happened, cause CBS was showing the guys huddling around the cooler with those devious looks on there faces, but then nothing ever happened.

Spell-check missed it because they are spelled correctly is all I can guess. Pretty unprofessional IMO. You have to read your work before you publish it. You can't just rely on spell-check to catch your mistakes. They were probably in a hurry to get it up on the site.

Those were the team clowns FWIW. Cody is their leader. Not surprising that Ro stepped in and told them we can't get away with that until we win the NC. He really is Saban in the body of an All American linebacker.

Ro knows Saban and he was right. If we win the NC Saban won't care if he gets his Gatorade bath.

Did you see the moment of realization on Harvin's face when he realized he'd f****d up? His eyes dart away quickly in the classic sign of submission....

Cody doing that to Saban?

Saban would be airborne like the dude swatted by Sasquatch in the Jack Links commercial!!!!

So if Bama loses the NC will it have been a decade since a Bama coach got the Gatorade treatment?
