Ahhh...but what if in the "new" system, polls are totally not incorporated? Then your "silly BCS titles" could be dismissed as being based on nothing more than a popularity contest that established who was going to have the best chance to get to the title game before the first kickoff of the season (a'la Auburn 2004)....

But they were/are consistent in using the same formula for voting the national championship: After all the bowl games and recognized by the conferences of the FBS.

Even if the end results are not the same (i.e. 2003 or any difference in computer vs. human polls) these "rules" have been accepted and approved by all 119 schools in the FBS.

I'm sure the Helms Athletic Foundation was recognized and approved by all conferences...
