A question for Bama fans. RE: Saban and LSU

I fail to understand something. Why is everyone so adamant that Nick Saban would not leave Alabama for LSU?
We will pay him just as much as you will. He has said the biggest mistake he made was leaving LSU. He has said he loves Louisiana and has many good friends there. His wife loves the place.
I do not believe he would be hammered by the media as some have said because it would be viewed almost like "coming home" - going back to the place he was happiest.
Our fans would take him back with open arms. Forget all of the stuff that was said and love him even more than we did when he was here before. Saban doesn't seem like the type to let stupid fans bother him either.
I understand he has made a life in bamaland and it is a very good possibility he would not leave.
I just do not understand all of the talk that there is no way he would ever even consider it.
Enlighten me, please.

What makes the LSU job better than Bama right now?

I didnt say it was a better job. I just fail to understand why "there is no way" he would leave for LSU.

The truth is he will go to whoever pays highest.

I dunno, I asked that question last week.
IMHO, LSU fans seem to be more adamant in taking this stance.

I'm not sure about that. Again, most Tigah fans on here don't seem to be keen to this.

Are you saying you want our coach because he is a lot better than yours?

Saban is a whore, and you can't trust a whore.

How many jobs has he considered since he arrived in Tuscaloosa ? He flirted with at least one NFL job plus Notre Dame in 2001 while he was in Baton Rouge. I never have understood the portion of the LSU fanbase that thinks LSU was "special" to Saban. LSU didn't mean nor means diddle to him.
He may leave Alabama one day,but it won't be to coach LSU.

That's BS. If Miles was out today and Saban held a press conference tomorrow to announce he was Baton Rouge bound, all of those Saban haters over here would be kissing his arse before the words were out of his mouth.
We ALL would take him back. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar or insane.

For one, he's said it more times than the word "process" or "aight."
Second, the reason he hasn't flirted with any other job is because he isn't going back to the NFL and there are no other jobs equal to Bama's in the college game.
I think the only school he would leave Bama for is LSU because it was so "special" to him.

Well there are a lot of liars on here. We already knew there were some one crayon short.

He can be more successful at Bama than he was at Lsu. As evidenced by the fact, that he's already had an undefeated regular season here, which he didn't have at Lsu, and is about to repeat that in back to back years. And as many Lsu fans wanted to point out at the beginning of the year, winning more than 10 games back to back is something he has never accomplished. Now that he is at Bama... mission accomplished and much more to come.

You are delusional to think he couldn't have done so at LSU. Les had 3 11+ win seasons in a row at LSU. Saban would have too.
What Saban hasn't done at Bama is win any Championship. He won one in his second year at LSU so he is behind schedule at Bama.

A similar question for LSU fans: why are you so adamant that he would even consider the possibility?
You assume some things that, quite honestly, are fantasy. First of all, you say that can will pay him just as much. Uhhh...no you can't. We just began an $80,000,000 stadium expansion, and in one of the worst economies in our lifetimes, we can afford it. In Saban's second year at Bama, net profits from football increased $10,000,000, and donations to the general university at large (not athletics) also increased $10,000,000. We have a waiting list for season tickets that's over 5,000 people long, and the 10,000 new seats won't even put a dent in that waiting list, because existing season ticket holders will probably grab most of those. Are you willing to pay Saban $10,000,000 a year? Because that's what you might have to pay to get him. Don't kid yourself into thinking you can pay as much as we can. We can double his salary right now and never miss the money. And we probably would if we had to in order to keep him.
You also misinterpret Saban's remark about the mistake in leaving LSU. It wasn't leaving Baton Rouge so much as it was leaving the college game for the pro game, and if you'd actually listen to what he and Terry have said on the subject, you'd understand that. Sure, no one is denying that he loved LSU and Baton Rouge, and he still does. But don't misinterpret that into thinking he wants to leave Bama to go back.
Saban is not that many years from retirement. He has everything he could possibly want...money, power, an adoring fan base, not to mention success. Quite simply, as long as he and Terry can hop on the university jet and go see his friends in Baton Rouge anytime they want, why leave?
The fact is that the Sabans have moved on. Many LSU fans haven't.

Not yet.

He was there for 5 years. He never did it. He's done it 2 out of 3 years here.

Saban is about to get his second 12 win season in a row here.

Maybe, maybe not. Using that criteria. Saban won a 2nd SEC championship in his fifth year. Miles is behind schedule now.

That is the question for Saban not we fans. I personally think he should stay at Bama and I would prefer someone else. I remember the bad feeling every december of will he stay or will he go. I do not want that shite anymore. Give me Brian Kelly, Tommy Tubbs, or Stoops.
