Very good food. Probably the best in Oxford. You will need a reservation. If you can't get in, go to the owner's other restaurant across the square called Bourre.

Its too late to get a reservation there. Hell its probably been too late for a month. Its great, though. 208 and Lenoras is too late too. A good place thats about a quarter of a mile from the Square on North Lamar that I would highly recommend is the Snack Bar. Serves very good food, has great Oysters, good seafood and duck. I've heard good things about a new restaurant/bar called Irie, which is mostly seafood. On Thursday night it is awesome since they have $1 beer. Ajax is good, but since it is probably Oxford's most famous restaurant its probably booked as well. Roosters is decent, Two Stick has good Sushi and you can probably get reservations for there now. Boure is really good as well and you can probably still get a reservation. Skip Downtown Grill. Overpriced and over rated.

No way you'll get a table at City Grocery. Currence has a couple of other restaurants I'd highly recommend, though. Boure is excellent and more casual. Snackbar is awesome and has a raw bar. He also has a place next door to Snackbar called Big Bad Breakfast. Highly recommend for breakfast/brunch but be prepared to wait.
Other places to try: Lenora's, Waltz, Taylor Grocery
This link is a little outdated but has pretty good information on most of the bars and restaurants: https://wikitravel.org/en/Oxford%2C_Mississippi

I enjoy Two Stick as well.
I actually prefer their sushi over Kabuki's(sp?).

City Grocery has the best food in Oxford. You will absolutely love it. (expensive, but worth it)

I am always amazed when someone comments on a restaurant saying its good or they have good such and such, someone always flies out of left field so say its no good.

Had a date last year tell me she didn't like Two Stick because it was too trendy...
WFT?!?!?! Too Trendy? It's raw(typically) fish wrapped in seaweed and rice. It's F-in Sushi.

I'm on the Boure bandwagon - nothing spectacular, but all good.

Next time tell her you'll let her pick -- AND, you'll even carry the trays ! :rimshot:

Go to the Chevron by campus that sells the BEST Chicken on a Stick EVER. For the best taste consume after midnight and after consuming large quantities of alcohol.

I went to Lenora's the other week for the time. Had probably one of the top 5 best NY Strips of my entire life. Just avoid the grille unless you just wanna have drink. The last 2 meals Ive had there were just awful.
Since Im assuming you dont have reservations. Try Boure, Ajax, Rooster or the Varsity Grille.
Boure is by the same guy that own City Grocery you should be able to get a table.
Ajax is good home cooking. Chicken N Dumplings are delicious.
Rooster is BBQ and bar food.
Varsity Grille is where Pearl Street used to be... I havent eaten there yet but Ive heard good things.
