Don't hold out hope for this. Whether Janzen was involved in the actual robbery, or even knew about it before hand, if he walked out of that store and saw what was happening, then got in that car with the two would-be-robbers and left the scene, then he is an accessory after the fact, and no amount of spin or justification can change that.

If you see a crime take place, then get in the car with the criminal(s), then that car better be headed directly to the nearest police station. If it's headed anywhere else, you just participated in the crime.
