I may be crazy, but when the heck did Ole Miss and LSU become such BITTER RIVALS?? WTF? I guess it was b/c they lost a chance to go to the SEC CC game back in 2003??? Or b/c they actually beat LSU last year???? OR is it the "MAGNOLIA BOWL" trophy that Ole Miss insisted to LSU that they play for?
GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK!
NEWS FLASH OLE MISS,
MISSISSIPPI STATE is your RIVAL, and Coach Dan Mullen has our team showing improvement EVERY WEEK, and we have november 28 Circled on our callendars.

You realize SEC football history goes a bit further back than that, don't you?

Hey, its one delusional team in every state, consider urself lucky knowing ur not Ole Miss...

Hmmm. Are you relatively young?
The LSU-Ole Miss rivalry dates back to the 1950's and 1960's, when both teams frequently had top ten teams. At certain points during that epoch, the LSU-Ole Miss contest played a pivotal role in the national championship and Heisman races.

I do, but Im 30 years old, and I never EVER remember LSU and Ole Miss having a heated rivalry in the 90's at all, however State and Ole Miss had fights in pregame and the Brewer/Sherill confrontation, etc....
PLUS, State/Ole Miss is a Mississippi thing I guess.

Relax...it is ok to have 2 rivals.

Apparently LSU is the only team that is not worried about having a "hated" rival. We have conference rivals, and our natural rival, Tulane, is about to shut down its football program. I don't care if any team considers us their top hated rival. I know that the SEC West teams have to play us every year, and throw Florida in that mix until the SEC stops kissing Alabama's butt and creates the true rotating schedule.

+1
I think you summed it all up with that one sentence.

When both teams were good back in the late 50s early 60s, there was a rivalry. Now, not so much. Although majority of Ole Miss fans hate LSU with a passion. Can't say the feeling's mutual.

Just Stating the FACTS Bruh.
I cant wait untill State upsets the Epic Failure that is Ole Miss in the egg bowl this year. They will probabally blame it on not being ready to Play state after playing LSU the previous week.

LSU/Ole Miss is like OU/Texas
Miss St./Ole Miss is like Tx A+M/Texas
(if that makes sense)

I will say that Ole Miss is trying to officially change their fight song to add "to hell with LSU". Why doesn't it say MSU instead? That and the old timers at the LSU games really do hate them some Ole Miss.

how about before you and I were born. The older people are the ones that still really hate the other school. It's an old rivalry thats almost died among younger fans but you let us get competitive again for several years and it will be back full force

of course you do. You also have Egg Bowl Celebration pictures in your locker rooms and a countdown clock by the weight room.
Our countdown clock ends when we play the next opponent. Then it resets.
And sorry, but that's just the way it is. LSU/OM is more of a rivalry. And a rivalry doesn't = hatred either. You have us circled on your schedule, but we have LSU circled on our schedule.

I've been to many Ole Miss games. In the late 80s and early 90s, depending on who you talked to LSU was as big a rival as MSU.
Much like Bama, some fans will tell you that UT is a bigger rival than AU.

misinformed much?
Its a dumb chant that is said by few idiots after a song we play. Our fight song is Forward Rebels and has nothing to do with the cant or From Dixie With Love.
