But I love the last line.....

quote:

Dear Coach Kiffin:

This is with regard to your post-game statements concerning the officiating in the Tennessee at Alabama football game played in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on October 24th, 2009.

The actions and statements constitute public criticism of officials, contrary to the provisions of Bylaw 10.5.4 of the Southeastern Conference Manual, which reads, “coaches, players and support personnel shall refrain from all public criticism of officials.” It is your responsibility as a coach to comply with the policies of the Southeastern Conference and to know the football playing rules.

As a result of your comments, I’m sending you this letter of reprimand. This reprimand will be made public.

Since it is clear from your public comments that you believe this letter “mean(s) nothing”, let me be equally as clear to you. The next time you, or a member of your staff, make public comments of this nature, you will be suspended from all coaching duties for one or more games, and the institution may be subjected to a substantial fine. I also remind you that this is your second public reprimand in your brief tenure as Tennessee’s Head Football Coach and on both occasions you were wrong about the applicable rules.
Sincerely,

Michael Slive

Slive's actually the one that's wrong. Twice

First off, when CLK made the comment that he will get a letter that "mean(s) nothing" he was talking about the the letter that Petrino got from the SEC saying that they was a mistake on the penalty. It didnt change a thing therefore it meant nothing.

Secondly, pulling your helmet off in the middle of a live play is an automatic call. The refs should have thrown the flag regardless of who fell on the ball.

Slive got his ego bruised and is trying to come across as a tough guy by making this public. We'll see how this turns out.

OK tough guy.

You argued none of my points. You need to go back to grammar school.

yeah dude, like you said, Kiffin said he will get a letter that means nothing. The letter Slive sent is the letter Kiffin was talking about. so Slive referenced that comment. Not even sure what you're trying to say, since you just confirmed slive was right.

kiffin said UT should've had another chance to kick the FG because of the penalty. he was wrong. It would've been Bama's ball.

Petrino got two letters, one was from the SEC talking about the blown penalty. That's the letter CLK was talking about.

The other was a letter of reprimand from Slive.

Kiffin wasn't wrong about the helmet call, I don't care what kind of contrived logic those assholes at the SEC come up with to defend it (See LSU/Auburn PI Call). Slive can kiss my

he's right that removing the helmet is an infraction. he's wrong about UT getting another chance to kick if the penalty was called.

so in the end, the blown call was irrelevant anyways.

blown call

which would have made a UT player falling on the ball irrelevant, which would have been difficult since the ref was screaming at McClain that the ball was live.

what are you talking about? this has been discussed to death. It's a dead ball foul, Bama had possession. Seriously, move on. Tennessee has no argument here.

If a Tennessee player had fallen on the ball, it would have been 15 yds and a re-kick (again, if the call wasnt blown).

It would have been hard for a Tennessee player to fall on the ball since the ref was looking at the bama players, pointing at the ball and yelling that it was live.

Wrong. Fail.

Your coach doesn't know the rules. If he runs his cocksucker again you'll be without a head coach for one game. Face those facts.

according to most here, we're lucky to have three wins with CLK as coach. Folks better watch out if he is suspended!

Not worried. But yes, if Kiffin is suspended or fired I will stop rooting for Tennessee and start rooting for LSU.

Will you return the favor if Les Miles is suspended or fired?

Quickdraw, you completely misunderstand me. don't ever stop rooting for Tennessee. And no, i will not quit rooting for LSU. hell, i bleed purple and gold. i am an LSU graduate. i do, however root for UT in a lot of games. i really like UT and have never trashed ya'll. it's kiffin that i have come to despise. and he did it to himself. i think ya'll made a mistake, but i did not start to think that until recently.

Les Miles is not constantly berating referees and other teams (falsely I might add) in public press conferences.

Kiffin is the only coach that has been threatened with suspension.
