So why keep throwing? Vanilla has nothign to do with it.

2 reasons.

1) You don't give up on your star QB because he's having a rough (flu) day. You instill confidence in him by giving him the ball and telling him that it's his team. By sitting him down, or going straight to the run, you are telling him that he's not good enough to handle it and that we can't win with him under center.

2) By at least putting the ball in the air, you make the secondary have to think about the pass. Just the threat of Jevan throwing was enough to allow our RB's to get to the second level. By folding up the pass game, we'd have given memphis the ability to play 8 in the box. We'd probably still have won, but it would have been even uglier and by only 3.

We did the right thing on Sunday. It wasn't pretty, but it was right. If I'm wrong, and we saw everything we have on Sunday, this year will suck elephant sack.

Who said anything about giving up on your QB, esp. Snead? You establish the running game to open up the passing for him when he's struggling. You want me to comment on your No. 2 too?
