our play calling was very questionable

It was pretty bad IMO. In fact, I laughed at times while watching the game when I thought about Elisha calling Kent Austin a genius.

Dude, it's the first game against a team we should beat whether we run 4 plays over and over or the entire play book.

Nutt (and Kent for that matter), aren't idiots. They are going to run as close to vanilla as possible for as long as they can in the early season. At least, that's the smart thing to do.

To put it another way. If SC uses game film from Mem and SELA to prepare for us, they're going to get the shite kicked out of them.

Yet we still won by 31. The playcalling was bland because the coaches knew we'd still win with bland playcalling. The wacky stuff (Wild Rebel, double reverses, fake punts) y'all saw towards the end of last season won't be broken out until SEC play. I can guarantee that.

Furthermore, it was revealed today that a whole slew of the football team has the swine flu. Johnny Brown, the starting SS, was vomiting on the sidelines but still managed 15 tackles and a pick. If we have STARTERS with the FLU balling out of control, even if it was against Memphis, we'll be fine.

Snead had a very rocky start. He did last season as well. Let's hope he finds his groove sooner rather than later.

Once again, we won by 31. People talk about that game as if we didn't beat the shite out of Memphis. We did and that's all that matters. Remember, this Memphis team was returning their top passer, rusher, and receivers from a team which went bowling last year. They're not exactly MO St. or WKU.

You obviously have a lot to learn about Houston Nutt. WHen a play call is good, it was made without his input, when something goes wrong, he did it all by himself.
